Are You Happy?
At times in all of our lives, it is quite common to become so wrapped up in our successes, projects, responsibilities and goals, that we forget sometimes to ask ourselves if we are indeed happy. It may seem like a silly question to ask but in this fast-paced and high-stress world, it is actually quite important that we each recognize the importance of happiness in our own lives.
Furthermore, as simple as the question may seem, it isn't always entirely easy to answer. After all, we all have our good days and our bad days, and there are always things about our lives that we like and dislike. The trick is to understand what you're feeling overall about your life. In general, are you happy?
If you're unsure or you're looking for more ways to bring some positive feelings into your life. Taking action to be happier is actually a great step in itself. Just knowing that you're working to be happier will actually make you feel more motivated and optimistic.
Some of the actions that can help you to feel happiness in your life can include:
- Smile more - Smiling a genuine smile will make you feel happier than you originally did. Stand tall when you smile and walk confidently, swinging your arms and taking long strides. You'll breath better, look better and feel better.
- Surround yourself with happy people - People's moods are contagious. If you spend your time around happy people instead of those who would rather be sarcastic and negative, you'll find yourself feeling much happier, too.
- Daydream - When you have the opportunity to do so safely, allow yourself to daydream about times and places that have or would make you feel perfectly happy.
- Plan some "me" time - Close your doors and windows to block the sound and then play your favorite music as loud as you want. Singing with the music will make you feel even better.
