Our business doctorates combine the academic study of business administration principles with the analysis of real world processes and practical management situations. Our theology doctorates address many diverse theological concentrations, ensuring that our graduates are well-versed in a wide range of theological areas and religious doctrinal approaches.

This month's featured Doctorate program: Ph.D. in Business Administration. Almeda University offers a Ph.D. in Business Administration that reflects the study of major aspects of contemporary businesses. Areas addressed include guiding principles in marketing, finance, organizational behavior, economics, accounting, strategic planning, operations, international business, and technology. As the global economy continues to grow, it is imperative that practitioners develop expertise that blends organizational modeling with tangible management principles to develop innovative ways of meeting the world's challenges. Warren Washington went from a line employee to the Supervisor of Quality Control for a major manufacturing company, earning $165,000 annually, when he earned his Almeda Ph.D. Jerome Benson, another Almeda alumni, is an executive vice president for a major trucking company, earning $285,000 a year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are approximately 146 million people employed in the United States, yet only one-third of one-percent of this labor force (0.003 or approximately 500,000) hold this esteemed degree. According to the National Association of Colleges & Employers, their starting salaries are up more than 49% since 1996, ranging from mid-five-figures to well over $200,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and the type of position. The average person that holds the Ph.D. in Business Administration is in the top five percent of wage earners in the United States.

In order to attain a position as a business executive or a church Pastor—just to name two potential career paths—an MBA or MA in theology is often required. Some companies and congregations will not even consider applicants unless they have a Master degree. Almeda's MBA and MA in Theology programs are conceived as a blend of academic study with the analysis of real world processes through the demonstration of practical experience.

This month's featured Master Degree program: MBA in Marketing. Students with an MBA in Marketing are knowledgeable in providing data concerning which products/services customers have purchased in the past and which rules can be constructed to determine from this data what new or existing products/services customers are most likely to purchase in the future. The career potential for someone with an MBA in Marketing is almost unlimited. All sorts of companies need qualified promotion and marketing managers to help their businesses expand. The marketing staff works with advertising agencies and the media in promoting their company's products and services. Studies and information provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, www.dol.gov, indicate that public relations managers earn an average yearly salary of $70,000. Promotions managers earn an average yearly salary of $89,570. For example, Josh Turner recently graduated from Almeda with his MBA and secured a position as marketing manager for a division of one of the world's leading automobile supply companies. Based in Atlanta, Josh travels the country on his nearly unlimited expense account, while earning an $88,000 salary which can be practically doubled by his commissions. As part of her job as Promotions Director for a major soft drink manufacturer, Sarita White, another Almeda MBA, often entertains clients on her expense account while enjoying her $132,000 annual salary. Clearly, an MBA in Marketing is money in the bank!

Many government and industry studies have ascertained that people with college degrees make on average over $1,000,000 more in their lifetime than people without college degrees. This month's featured Bachelor Degree: Bachelor of Science in Communications. Bettina Walker parlayed her B.S. degree into a $59,000 position with an up and coming software manufacturer in California's Silicon Valley. She promotes her company's products by connecting with hundreds of professionals and corporations throughout America. The evidence is clear: there are tens of thousands of good jobs for graduates holding B.S. degrees in Communications.

Almeda University offers Associates in Arts (A.A.) degrees in many areas within Arts (including Education, Social Services, and Liberal Arts) and Sciences (including Accounting, Business Administration, and Computer Science). This month's featured Associate degree: A.A. in General Studies. The General Studies major may be awarded to students who have shown an aptitude and proficiency in math, composition and rhetoric, ethics and values, global perspectives, humanities, art, and social science. With a General Studies A.A., you are prepared for a wide variety of jobs that carefully marry job satisfaction and livable salaries. People with these mid-level jobs tend to have a higher job satisfaction and less stress than those with higher or lower level jobs. One very happy graduate with an A.A. degree in General Studies holds an excellent job as Manager for an auto supply store in Memphis.
