Who Will Accept My Almeda Degree?

Thousands of companies across North America hire Almeda graduates. Those who have completed our Life Experience Degree Program find that doors are open to them in all kinds of organizations. Employers know that Almeda graduates offer not only classroom experience, but also proven competency in their chosen fields. When you identify yourself as a graduate of Almeda University, recruiters will know you earned your degree.

The fact is, more and more employers recognize the value of a life experience degree, and some prefer it. Many employers even offer tuition assistance to their employees. Why? Because employers know there is no substitute for experience.

Unlike a traditional degree, a life experience degree certifies that the graduate is a seasoned professional in his or her chosen field. If an employer assigns a tax audit to a life experience graduate in accounting, the employer knows that the resulting report will contain substance based on knowledge and obtained through years of practical experience. A new college grad, on the other hand, has little to offer beyond technical skills. Employers know which one brings real value to the project.

We are beginning to see a complete paradigm shift in the way managers and human resource professionals respond to non-traditional degrees. However, while the growing trend toward acceptance of life experience degrees is a step in the right direction, some traditional corporations continue to resist change in their established hiring procedures.

Almeda University does not determine whether an employer will or will not accept your degree. Before you pursue your degree at Almeda, we encourage you to check with your prospective employer(s) to make sure they will honor it.

Unfortunately, due to the large volume of inquiries we receive, Almeda University is unable to contact employers on your behalf. If you or your employer have questions for us, please contact us at (877) 829-6419.

Will Other Universities Recognize My Degree?

Each college or university has its own method for evaluating credits earned at other institutions and determining which of those are transferable. This goes for traditional universities, such as Harvard or Yale, as well as non-traditional universities like Almeda. Determination of transferability may be based on many factors, such as the "fit" of the course in the target curriculum, the grade received for the course, the accreditation of the transferring institution and submission of appropriate documentation.

With the rapid and widespread increase in alternative learning and degree programs, we expect that transferring credits from these programs will only become easier. In the meantime, if you intend to use your Almeda degree as the basis for further education or transfer your Almeda credits to another educational institution, we encourage you to contact the admissions office of the college or university to which you plan to transfer. The registrar or guidance counselor can explain the institution's transfer policy and the method used to evaluate credits.

Again, due to the large volume of inquiries we receive, Almeda is unable to contact other educational institutions on your behalf. If you or the staff of your prospective college or university has questions for us, please contact us at (877) 829-6419.
